Manasota Key Fl (Storch Report) — My ‘Make America Great Again’ hat arrived today, the one with a camouflage background in Orange letters. Look for me, I’ll be wearing the hat, I’ll deliver a message, if you’re willing to listen, that sounds something like this:
Upon receiving it I couldn’t help but think back to 2008 a date when Michelle Obama was under fire for leaving the impression that she hadn’t been proud of her country until Democrats were beginning to rally around her husband’s campaign. She said, “People in this country are ready for change and hungry for a different kind of politics and . . . for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”
Imagine, she arrived at adulthood and never felt proud of the America she grew up in until her husband, Barack Hussein Obama, was running for president of the United States offering ‘hope & change.’
She omitted that fact last week at the Convention of the DNC in Philadelphia when she said, “That is the story of this country, the story that has brought me to this stage tonight, the story of generations of people who felt the lash of bondage, the shame of servitude, the sting of segregation, but who kept on striving and hoping and doing what needed to be done so that today I wake up ever morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent, black young women playing with their dogs on the White House lawn.”
That may be your story Michelle, but it is not the story of millions of middle class Americans, including black American families, that had to survive under your failed husband’s administration for nearly 8 years. There was change, but little hope — even for the dogs playing on the lawns they once had.
She preached to the Choir at the Convention, telling them America was great and we didn’t need Donald Trump to make it better.
It was the poor judgment of a first lady and her husband who apparently didn’t have any trouble falling asleep in a White House that was built by slaves during an administration of ‘hope & change’ where Americans were going through the worst recovery of the greatest recession; economics failed, job recovery lacked shovels, defense stumbled during a declaration of war by ISIS, housing crashed and there was a catastrophic loss of personal savings by the people.
It was an arrogant, defensive, socially and politically divisive, executive order style of dictatorship, an administration that makes many Americans long for the change Michelle wanted and got but was never delivered to the middle class Obama promised.
The former president Bill Clinton — remember him — suggested at the DNC that his wife, the Democratic nominee, that he wrote a love story about, suggested she was the ‘greatest of change agents.’
Change Agent? I thought she was running on the premise her presidency would be a third term of Obama?
I guess Bill’s aging, they don’t talk much anymore and when Hillary does speak, like accepting the nomination for president of the US at the DNC Convention, Bill falls asleep.
I’ll bet that’s a breakfast wake-me-up.
The recovery of the great recession, as Obama calls it, is the slowest in the nation’s history, the GDP is a pathetic 1.2%, homes and savings have been lost, other homes are under water, the unemployment rate is more like 20% rather than 5, and 70% of the electorate believe Hillary is untrustworthy, crooked and a liar all of which she has been labeled with by her Republican opponent Donald Trump.
I’m glad my, ‘Make America Great Again’ hat arrived today so I can help clarify what’s going on under the cover of the camouflage hat.
I must admit, I would like to wake-up in a white house built by slaves as long as my wife was running the nation.
