ABC Anchor Stephanopoulos Tangled In The Web Of Clinton Politics

StephanopoulosNew York (Storch Report) — George Stephanopoulos, a Clinton political communication operative of yesterday, who tried to go straight as an objective non-bias journalist with the likes of the liberal mainstream network of ABC, was stripped naked when the true colors of his biases were exposed this week and he will never be looked upon by the public again as a credible anchor, nor should he be.

Say goodnight George.

Why should he say goodnight as George Burns suggested to his wife Gracie Allen yesterday when she flubbed a comic closing line, because it’s -30- for his credibility as a legitimate journalist.

It happens to the best when they are spinning the news to meet their own bias, or defend their past loyalties and their own political leanings, when attempting to present themselves as being neutral when delivering the news in an anchor role.

When you disclose your political leanings and report them as the same, you are being honest with your readers and they know precisely where you are coming from.

Although, we could easily guess where George was coming from based upon his background, that is not the way he portrayed his persona on the air since he joined ABC 19 years ago to the position he holds today earning $8 million a year.

Stephanopoulos’ deli-ma came about in an interview with Peter Schweizer, author of Clinton Cash, who describes through circumstantial evidence a pay for play game through the Foundation and speeches, where George was clearly and obviously spinning and defending the Clinton’s, behaving as a prosecutor not a journalist, failing to allow the author to respond to his questions.

The Washington Beacon discovered that George gave $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation and called ABC for a comment.  ABC didn’t respond to the Beacon but called Politico, a left leaning internet news source, expecting a more favorable treatment, but on the basis of the evidence, they didn’t get what they expected.

Stephanopoulos’ defense: “I made charitable donations to the Foundation in support of the work they’re doing on global AIDS prevention and deforestation, causes I care about deeply.  I thought that my contributions were a matter of public record.  However, in hindsight, I should have taken the extra step of personally disclosing my donations to my employer and to the viewers on air during the recent news stories about the Foundation.  I apologize.”

That statement is not only not acceptable, it is hypocritical. His behavior on air, discloses along with his personal contributions, his liberal bias while attempting to portray a role of neutrality in his political role at ABC.

Schweizer accused Stephanopoulos of a “massive breach of ethical standards,” and rightfully so.

Stephanopoulos is the network’s chief political correspondent and co-host of Good Morning America and has now said he will stay away from the February debate, which he had been scheduled to moderate.

Will he stay away from his political and anchoring role for ABC?

This is a clear example of what is taking place in the mainstream left wing media today; no truth or honesty, just a liberal political spin.

If a pay for play takes place in the Clinton Foundation, with a quid pro quo with these political personalities taking place at the Foundation level, including lucrative speaking fees for those that could possibly be president of the United States, what’s to say it doesn’t take place with the likes of George Stephanopoulos of ABC News or any other anchor in the mainstream media who have the ability to spin the news in a direction of a pay for play delivery of alleged news?
