A Democratic process should prevail in filling vacancies that occur in elected offices in the US by conducting special elections — not political appointments.
It seems to me to be an oxymoron for Caroline Kennedy to think that she should be appointed to the seat of Sen. Hillary Clinton, should the latter be confirmed as Secretary of State, when she has failed to cast her vote in general elections many times since 1988.
I like his humor, I like his reflexes, I like the man for the principals he restored to this country and the fact that he has brought us 8 years of terror-free peace since 9/11.

It is very doubtful that Barack Obama will use his middle name Hussein when sworn in as the 44th President of the United States and as a result he will join the company of only two previous presidents in recent times that have not done so, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan.
