It’s All Been Bush’s Fault

They fired up Air Force One shortly after noon yesterday and President Obama once again boarded his luxury liner bound for Hawaii so POTUS could walk the beaches of Waikiki.  You know, that’s where he was born.

His wife and children were already there, a double tax payer expense to take the first family on another one of their record breaking presidential family vacations.

The president stayed behind to fight for the middle class, and he achieved less than what he asked for, but accepted something short of his goal for what was a political gain.  And, that works for him.

He wanted a one year extension of the Bush payroll tax relief — imagine that, no Bush bashing here — but all he could get from his Democratic controlled Senate was a two month extension.

After all he did save the middle class $40 from a weekly pay check for two months, perhaps enough for a family pizza per week, much to Michelle’s nutritional displeasure.

The GOP wasn’t happy about the deal, but they caved to loose a battle, to come back another day to win a war.

Nevertheless, the middle class got a family pizza dinner a week for the next two months, Obama got a political gain, another vacation and some healthy mahi mahi dinners.

I mean, what a guy – the sacrifice he makes for the middle class of America is just beyond belief.

Obama spins a good game.  It was a policy loss, but a political gain for our Campaign Commander in Chief.

However, I can’t help but think about the other event that took place this week that was so important to Obama’s campaign promise, the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq by year end.  It took place this past weekend.  He was originally against the war, but made the best of it politically.  However, it was but days after our troops left Iraq that Al Qaeda spread bombs throughout Baghdad killing some 72 people.

There was little response from the White House on this quick response from the enemy.

There is a rather feeble leadership in this country and it is time that we the people recognize it.

Somehow after all of what America has achieved on a global basis as a relatively young country we need to be reminded of the legacy of our founding fathers, which the Obama administration is slowly devaluing.

We are a country of immigrants, for which we are very proud.  And we welcome more as long as they enter legally and follow the appropriate laws to become citizens.

We are a country that leans to the right of center.  Obama is doing his best to change that.  We traveled off course when we elected him.

We now must reestablish our national and global bearings as leaders of the free world with no apologies.
