President Obama demonstrated his impotent leadership in foreign policy today when commenting on Iran’s takeover, trashing, holding of hostages and setting the British Embassy in Tehran on fire.

“For rioters to essentially be able to overrun the embassy and set it on fire is an indication that the Iranian government is not taking its international obligations seriously,” President Obama said.

What!  Apparently Obama has been spending too much time tending to Michelle’s vegetable garden to issue such a bland, toothless, gutless and impotent statement.  It is much like the ineffectual sanctions the US implemented against Iran when learning of how close they are to a nuclear weapons program.

“Not taking its international obligations seriously?” Has Obama been living in a cave, preparing to hibernate for the winter, or perhaps retiring to the land of Oz?

When has Iran been concerned about its international obligations?  They have done this before, in case you forgot Iran’s attack on the US Embassy in 1979 and the holding of hostages.  Jimmy Carter was president, not something Obama want’s to think about – he was a one-term president.

The United States government knows well that no spontaneous protests take place in Iran without them being sanctioned by the government.

This was a direct response to the sanctions by the British government on Iran’s banking system.

These were sanctions with teeth and it caused the Iranian government to react, unlike the weak sanctions implemented by the US.

Oh, but Obama is “deeply disturbed.”

“That kind of behavior is unacceptable,” Obama said, adding that the Iranian government has a responsibility to protect diplomatic outposts.

Now, isn’t this making nice nice, or perhaps this is what Obama calls diplomacy with a country that breeds more terrorists than any other nation in the world?
