For those who could never change a light bulb, help is on the way and for those that didn’t like to eat their peas, President Obama told us today we must eat them to help with the deficit.

The government will help you by enforcing upon the public a new light bulb that will last longer, provide less light to read by, cost significantly more, will be hazardous to your health, be more difficult to dispose of, but you will be afforded the benefit to change light bulbs fewer times.

This will allow you to go to remedial light bulb changing school in the interim.

Now as for peas, we must ‘eat our peas’, President Obama said today.  We need to do this to help with the deficit.

I mean after all this President has, ‘bent over backwards’ to meet with Republicans and all Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner, is looking for is a dance; because he said today, ‘it takes two to Tango.’

The metaphors are flying high and wide.

Big government is in play.  I just hope Michelle Obama doesn’t have any peas planted in her victory garden behind the White House.

The government is so intrusive today that even Obama has to sneak out of the White House with some buddies for a cheese burger and then sneaks some more back for the staff as a treat.

Meanwhile, Michelle is trying to prevent kids from having a burger, or soda pop in school, salt is being taken out of restaurants, the government is telling us what cars to drive and what our BMI should be.

Oh, and cigarettes, I wonder how Obama is doing with that habit?

I never tried a cigarette, therefore I don’t have much compassion for those with the habit, especially with the evidence that has been available for a long time that it is a health hazard for the smoker and those exposed to passive smoke.

If the product is so bad, it shouldn’t be on the market.  Isn’t that much like the light bulb?

I think the cigarette is worse than Edison’s light bulb.  I would pick the latter to have in my household rather than the former.

They are debating it today in Congress to get the stupid new bulb out of some environmental bill that was signed by George Bush as part of a larger package and it was slipped into the bill by no other than Nancy Pelosi, who probably has stock in GE.  The vote is going to take place tomorrow.

Now, as for veggies, I am not a fan of them and on the basis of what Obama said today, perhaps he isn’t either; for he portrayed eating peas as a penalty to passing the debt deficit ceiling.

The intrusiveness of this government is preventing me at this late stage of my life from meeting a goal I always wanted to achieve, changing a light bulb of my choice in my own house.
