Barbara Walters nailed an exclusive last night with the prosecution and the defense attorneys of the Casey Anthony trial and clearly displayed that she has mellowed with age.

And, I guess that’s okay, after all she has had a stellar journalistic career.  And she is still almost on the top of her game as a septuagenarian.

However, in an exclusive interview with the prosecution and the defense in the Casey Anthony murder trial, a trial that has captured the nation’s emotion, passion, involvement the likes of which we haven’t seen since the O. J Simpson trial, she failed to uncover any news from this exclusive interview, and she didn’t even draw upon her signature characteristic  – to make the victims of her questioning cry!

She interviewed Jose Baez the attorney for the defense representing Casey Anthony.  Jose as you might recall created “fantasy forensics’ as well as a fantasy theory that Caylee died in the family pool of drowning  and that Casey’s father, and Grandfather of Caylee, assisted in a cover up.

But Baez, who made this charge in his opening remarks, never provided any evidence during the trial to support the theory.

Baez said that after he heard the first not guilty on first degree murder, he knew that “I saved her life”.

He said to Walters that her – Casey’s – actions of lying – should not be ‘condoned.’

Baez said that Casey did receive the recommendation to retain him as her attorney from an inmate.

Baez told Walters that he believed the prosecution went to far in the initial charge of first degree murder.

Jeff Ashton, the prosecutor said of Casey, “She was a good liar” but he went on to say “she killed her daughter.”

He told Walters that he “wouldn’t do anything differently”.  And he believes the “system is great.”

One of the 12 actual jurors, Jennifer Ford said rather bluntly that the  facts in this case “didn’t prove anything.”

In relation to her decision making process she said it was not an easy decision, but she felt she, “applied the law and held up the constitution.”

And this is where I also net out.
