If I don’t mention your name you’re not in the race for the GOP nomination, and if I do mention your name you will most likely not win because in my mind the winning nominee is not yet in the race.

I know that’s kind of harsh, or perhaps confusing,  but that’s my perception at the early stages of the GOP nomination.

For example take Newt Gingrich the history encyclopedia, who is dead in the water out of the gate and is now in a state of denial about the public’s perception of the viability of his candidacy.

His staff implodes before his eyes and to think that this does not reflect upon his intelligence and ability to lead puts this candidate in a state of psycho denial.

Newt is not interested in being President, he is a better pundit pandering to his trophy wife.

Because he is a better lecture than a President he should balance out some liberal institution of higher learning with his right wing rhetoric, pay attention to his wife and have a good life.

Then there’s Mitt Romney, a retread who looks presidential and talks presidential but is perceived as a wealthy aristocrat who comes off as being not the right to the left or anyone else.  And, this all happens when he tells his audience that he too is ‘unemployed.’

Nipping at his Achilles tendon is Michele Bachmann, running neck and neck with Romney in the Iowa caucus, but she has been painted into a box as a ‘flake’ with the ‘dummy’ of Alaska, Palin, by the left wing liberals, politicians and media.

I don’t think Palin will run because Bachmann stole her thunder and  how will anyone tell the difference between the two?

As for the rest, I don’t think they deserve the mention.

The two candidates sitting in the bull pen waiting for a call to enter the game are Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry and Sen. John Thune (R-SD) who is being pressured to re-thinking a run.

These observations are but perceptions at this point in time about the GOP field.  But if Perry and Thune enter the race there is a win in sight for the GOP.

Both Perry and Thune are attractive newcomers and if either adds Sen, Marco Rubio (R-Fl) as their running mate, I predict a winning ticket.
