We are now two-and-a-half years into the first term of President Obama’s administration and a lot has happened, and I would be the last one to make judgments on whether it has been a good or bad start. I would rather leave that call up to the voters.  However, I thought I might pass along some words and sentences to the president he might consider avoiding between now and 2012 — that is if he want’s to be reelected:

“At the outset, I’d like to make it clear that I have made terrible mistakes that have hurt the people I care about . . . and I’m deeply sorry.”

“I have not been honest with myself, the people or the media . . . “

“I am so sorry to have disrupted life in this way . . . “

“But, let us not forget, I inherited this mess and I did not make it worse . . . nevertheless, I’m sorry . . . “

“I campaigned as an anti-war candidate and we are now into four wars, I’m looking for a fifth and that should put a nail in the coffin of this nation . . . it was a hugely regrettable mistake, and I’m sorry.”

” I can’t say with certitude that we won’t have a double dip recession, or for that matter an Obama depression, and I’m sorry.”

“I take full responsibility for my actions.”

“I promised you transparency, but I am going to take this columnists’ advice and avoid saying these words from now on, I’m sorry.”
