Obama, as usual is disingenuous with Israel as he is with the American people.  He went to the mat today taking  one step closer to critically damaging relations with Israel and causing more trouble in the Middle East than perhaps was his intent to resolve?  Or, was that his intent, to perhaps kick the can down the road until he is reelected, giving him time to create a new world order  to destroy the West?

While delivering a major opus on the Middle East, Obama waited until the end of his speech before he dropped his bomb calling for a Palestine State and for Israel pulling back to the borders that existed before 1967.

Obama draws a line in the sand in the Middle East with the talk, but as his history demonstrates he doesn’t perform well with the walk, for as the world knows his performance is impotent.

Prime Minster Netanyahu swiftly rejected Obama’s call hours before he was to meet with the President at the White House tomorrow.

It might be a good idea for both to have a taste tester at the luncheon – that is if Netanyahu is offered lunch.

Netanyahu said such a withdrawal would jeopardize Israel’s security by leaving major West Bank settlements outside Israel borders.

The US had previously endorsed the concept of a Palestinian state, but not the demand for permanent pre-1967 borders, with mutually agreed land swaps.

It might be constructive to provide some perspective of Israel as a nation by its geography.  It is currently 7,992 square miles.  It stretches 263 miles from north to south and its width is 71 miles to its narrowest west point of 93 miles;  It is an 8 mile strip.  Without question Netanyahu’s point is well taken with respect to defense.

Obama is trying to throw Israel under the bus, for now.

“The status quo is unattainable,” Obama said.  “A lasting peace will involve two states for two peoples.”

This is a classic inexperienced Obama statement on foreign policy.  I doubt that he spent any time reviewing the history of the region, how it came about, the US influence in creating Israel, but I do believe he reviewed it from his own political viability.

Obama is kicking the can down the road, a political style he is mastering the way Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees does delivering his slider as a closer.

He didn’t poll too well before his bomb of today among Jewish-Americans and I don’t expect it to be much better tomorrow.  A political consideration that I believed he probably balanced out among Hispanics.

Obama will try to make nice with Nenetanyahu tomorrow, I just hope Nenetanyahu doesn’t return the favor.

For as much as Obama would like to kick the can down the road in the Middle East before the 2012 election, I hope Nenetanyahu holds his feet to the fire because Israel will be better off without an Obama as will the United States 2012.
