The Associated Press, once the premiere wire service of the world, today has folded to the left wing mainstream media because it knows where its bread is buttered.

Yes, even in the news business it’s all about the money.

When I worked for a daily newspaper in New Jersey I was known as a ‘stringer’ for the AP and UPI.

They would throw me a few bucks a month for stories I would feed to them from the area I was covering for my daily newspaper.  That was the way it worked by a contract my publisher signed, which they payed for, with AP and UPI to get their world wide services.

Today AP is still the premiere wire service, UPI most likely today fell to third place behind Reuters.

But AP is in the tank for the mainstream media.

This is demonstrated by a recent poll they took that said Obama has an approval rating of 53% following the Bin Laden kill, which is in direct conflict with the Rasmussen poll which says Obama has 10 points less.

The answer lies in both the survey type and the sample.

The AP poll skews the poll it takes 2-1 for Democrats vs Republicans.

The AP knows what it is doing, but refuses to adjust its polling techniques to more accurately predict electorial behavior – or wanted to put its finger on the scale without too many people discovering what its doing.

The partisan gap in this sample is sad, but an example of AP’s left wing leanings and not being the wire service it once was.
