‘The Daily’, Rupert Murdoch’s recently launched online newspaper with a magazine format , unveiled five of President Obama’s catchphrases and surprisingly there are ‘strikingly similar’ phrases to words spoken by President George W. Bush.
The article written by Anthony DeCeglie and Jenny Merkin quoted Obama saying about the war in Libya, “Our goal is focused. Our cause is just. And our coalition is strong.”
Bush nearly a decade earlier said about the war in Afghanistan, “Your mission is defined. Your objectives are clear. Your goal is just.”
The top five Obama catchphrases and the times mentioned were gathered by The Global Language Monitor and dated March 25, 2011:
- “Make no mistake” 2,924 times
- “Win the future” 1,861 times
- “Here’s the deal” 1,450 times
- “Let me be clear” 1,066 times
- “It will not be easy” 1,059
Well tonight, “make no mistake” he will address the nation to “be clear” about the war he calls “Kinetic Military Action”, but it will, “win the future” for our nation and the rest of the world. “It will not be easy” to have started a war and allow NATO to finish it; but as I promised, we did not have any “boots on the ground.”
It is interesting to note that Obama bashed Bush like no other US president before, yet chose to borrow a few key key phrases to explain away his own actions.
