It is now clear, the brain trust within the Obama administration spent more time working on euphemisms for the word ‘war’ against Libya then they did defining the coalition’s military mission, goal or end game.
According to reliable sources it was the President that came up with the idea to form a task force to search for another word other than war to explain his military action.
After all he wasn’t going to consult with Congress before he and his coalition were going to war with Libya. They were going to take their cue from UN resolution 1973, declare war and then Obama was going to Rio.
According to our reliable sources Obama met with his close advisers, told them to form a secret task force so that when he got back from vacation, the White House could explain the military action to Congress and the people.
Obama made note that he didn’t want to use any words previous administrations used when they went to war. He said, “you know like hostilities, police action or conflict. “ He told his advisers that it might be helpful if members of the task force, “we’re good at Scrabble.”
A name was given to this highly secret committee: “The Verbal Aerobics Task Force” (VATF). Obama told his advisers that if the task force does a good job, it could be a permanent committee to work on other ‘word smith’ problems the White House might have.
Obama went on vacation and the task force had a week to complete its assignment.
Our source, who spoke on anonymity would not reveal the names of the members of the committee, but said the group went back to medieval times to come up with the answer.
“You see, back in medieval times they had non-orbital bombardments with kinetic projectiles such as lobbing stones with devices like catapults or trebuchets, but you see even in those days this was considered, “siege warfare”.
He went on to say that “warfare” of course would be verboten to the task force’s assignment.
But then, according to our source, they came up with kinetic bombardment which is a si-fi term that evolved out of the ‘cold war’ and according to Wikipedia it’s the act of attacking a planetary surface with an inert projectile, where the destructive force comes from kinetic energy of the projectile impacting at very high velocities.
Eureka, the top Scrabble player on the task force got it: “Kinetic Military Action.”
And according to my source, KMA could go down in the annals of military history, “because war has lost its meaning.”
Apparently the task force member who got the word Kinetic, asked for his 11 points.
