I have faith in this Nation’s character. History has proven it to be true to our founding fathers wisdom. However we sometimes stray, much like a marriage on the rocks followed by a rebound with another love as we have done when this nation put a Marxist in the White House after falling out of love with George W. Bush.
It was a poor knee jerk reaction to policies of a previous administration that the liberals in this nation took advantage of.
Mistakes are always made for the one that doesn’t make mistakes in life, they are just not trying. It’s the mistakes of commission that are the good ones; the mistakes of omission the bad ones. With the former you tried, with the latter you failed to do anything.
But the mistakes of poor judgment, character and motivation to take a nation in a direction it didn’t want to go but was led to by deception, in my mind, is inexcusable.
And, in my opinion, that is the direction President Obama has taken this nation and is now trying to justify failed liberal policies in the backyards of America.
Character when I was born – 1934 – the depth of the Great Depression was not the recession that Obama allegedly prevented from a depression with bailouts and takeovers, blaming all on a previous administration, it had to do with people who knew how to live without, and didn’t know what greed meant, but, for sure as hell, knew how to survive. Obama wasn’t around in those days.
It was the wealthy with all, that lost its fortune that was jumping out of sky scrappers in New York.
Liberal President Franklin D. Roosevelt had the answers; he developed the New Deal, the WPA, none of which worked until he lobbied for war, and the attack on Pearl Harbor, which brought America out of the Great Depression.
I was 7, remember the day well. Was in the Rex Theater in Irvington NJ – two movies and a newsreel with cartoons – with my parents. It was a Sunday, went to my Grandmother’s house afterwards to hear the news.
Thereafter two Uncles were in the military, one in the Navy the other in the Marine Corps. There were battles for them in Guam and Guadalcanal, they survived. Manufacturing in the United States boomed, we produced everything from tanks to planes and ships and did so in many instances in weeks, but now we produce virtually nothing.
In those days we lived in a railroad apartment, $40 a month plus utilities. TV wasn’t a reality until my senior year in high school and then I was intrigued at looking at test patterns, wrestling and Ed Sullivan on Sundays.
Credit cards didn’t exist. My parents paid in cash for what they purchased.
The world war past, there was growth; GI’s went to college on the GI Bill.
Our character and values were still intact. Corporations became a place to be and workers found a home, much like AT&T which was known in those days as Ma Bell.
Imagine working in the same company for 20 year’s and receiving a watch on retirement?
During this period of time credit became a major part of a family’s need. It was necessary for buying a house and one of the ways to build your credit was to have a credit card.
They measured it all based upon your ability to pay off your bills. But what happened to paying for what you bought when you purchased it?
Oh, you bought it on credit, because you established a credit rating.
And during this period of time there was character in the employees and their loyalty to the Corporation and in turn the Corporation to the employee.
But then greed entered both aspects of our work environment. It was the greed of the 80′s.
Politically, liberals moved in and out of our administration, there were wars, they tried to call them something else for political reasons, but Americans died, no matter what they were called.
The liberals wanted everyone to have a house, whether they could afford it or not. Clinton balanced the budget, much to his credit. But his errors of omission on defense, because of oval office distractions, were extraordinary.
Then there was the Bush years, and long before Obama, the Democrats took over the Congress. The likes of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd taking over financial activities, creating Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, homes for everyone, whether they could afford them or not, and thus the foreclosures of today because the federal government offered credit for which purchasers could not meet their obligations.
In the historical analysis, what we have is President Obama, an alleged American citizen, who has yet to serve up his birth certificate to prove citizenship, had a father who was a colonial Marxist, lived most of his life out of the US, was educated in the US, but whose college records are prohibited from inspection and is a devout Alinsky, Cloward & Piven Marxist admirer, steps into the White House with the character to serve up wealth redistribution, create a global world order and take down a nation of character which he represents without a trace of character of his own worth mimicking.
Vote on November 2, to bring back the character of our nation.
