In an arrogant, aggressive and adamant Bush bashing delivery, assistant to the president for intergovernmental relations and public liaison, Valerie Jarrett appeared with the girls of ‘The View’ today and revealed, perhaps with not so obvious intent, why Obama is a blame-game candidate rather than a president that demonstrates leadership and responsibility.
And is it any wonder when you sit in an ivory tower surrounded with presidential assistants the likes of Rahm Emanuel, David Axlerod and Jarrett?
Jarrett admits to gushing with pride when entering the oval office and says ‘Mr. President.’
But right out of the box Jarrett said look at the economy, and the job loss of 750,000 per month we inherited from the Bush administration.
When Elizabeth Hasselbeck asked about Obama’s second stimulus of $50 million when the first one by all accounts didn’t work, Jarrett snapped back with the administration’s party line that they saved 3 million jobs, but failed to address the 8 million that are still out of work nor taking the deficit from $1.3 trillion to $13 trillion in less than two years.
Sidestepping a Barbara Walters question as to whether she would be interested in taking Emanuel’s job if he decided to run for Mayor of Chicago, she said “I love my present job.”
Valerie Jarrett, 53, was born in Shiraz, Iran to American Parents. Her father, James E. Bowman, a pathologist and geneticist, ran a hospital for children in Shiraz.
As a child she spoke Persian and French. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from Stanford University in 1978 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 1981.
She married Dr. William Robert Jarrett in 1983, had one child a daughter who recently graduated from Harvard, divorced her husband in 1988. Entered politics in 1987 and hired Michelle Robinson, then engaged to Barack Obama in 1991 while working for Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.
Obama and his staff like to tout how they stay in touch with the people and if that is truly the case why is it he is continuing to portray himself as the candidate of blame and change?
Perhaps it’s because his only accomplishment, after 21 months in office, was his election as President of the United States.
PS: I’m sorry, I forgot about the Nobel Peace Prize!
