Remember when ‘we’ (that’s a collective we) said, ‘the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree’ when casting a positive or negative note of one’s offspring? Well, today that metaphor appears to be in the process of modification.
It all apparently begins with those ‘in’ clubs that have been pervasive for some time now from New York To Los Angeles where only the beautiful people are allowed in.
No big noses, fat asses, piano legs, teeth with an over bite, or big ears.
Big boobs get a pass.
The president nor the first lady would qualify for admission.
The thought of beautiful acorns is really not new. Hitler, thought of it more than 60 years ago when he tried to create an Arien race of blond blue eyed humans, while trying to rid the world of people with big noses.
Why is someone always trying to make one beautiful or perfect, when imperfect can be beautiful too?
We are a world of people who want to see shapely thin women, svelte men, both hydrating and a society where fat is verboten.
Nevertheless there are more fatties than thinees.
And, so is it any wonder that someone who created a website which only allows beautiful members, is going to branch out to create an online sperm and egg bank for people desperate to have attractive children?
Beautifulpeople.com which bans ugly or fat people from its ranks has launched a Beautiful Baby service, with the same strict beauty requirements for donors.
And grudgingly, they are going to allow normal or ugly looking people to benefit from the service.
Well, I guess that opens up the market, with the false thought that ugly children are not born to attractive people.
The beautiful people thought is not far fetched today with the progress made in DNA research. I mean, after all a careful combination of sperm and egg could eliminate genetic diseases, guarantee intelligence and perhaps provide beauty. But could they provide all three, or is only the latter, the important one?
I don’t know, I just don’t find a beautiful clone, without a resemblance and personality of the offspring to be attractive.
After all, I just don’t want to look at the father of a child with a big nose and not be able to say ‘the acorn didn’t fall far from the tree.’
