Somewhere on the way to Marseille, with the final destination being Paris, I had some random thoughts about Easter and what surrounds many beliefs, faiths, what can be proven, what can’t, and the hypocrisy of the way in which human kind behaves despite the simple premise of thinking one knows the difference between right and wrong.

Jesus believed he was the son of God.  No one can prove that.  Many believe Mary was his mother, Jesus being born by immaculate conception.  No one can prove that.  Jesus was crucified, buried and rose because John said he no longer saw him in the tomb.

Was God fooling around?

On Easter Sunday the Vatican was still dealing with its pedophiles, something it has been dealing with, covering up and Popes have been washing others feet for, in humility, for eons.

Are we all just human sinners that should be forgiven?  And, forgiven for what?

Do we really know what is right or wrong?  Or, do we only know what is right or wrong because of the law, and when you violate it you pay the penalty?

Where do the 10 commandants fit in?  Perhaps the most important words written and more significant than the history of religion.

How do I put Tiger Woods into this equation?  How does he put himself into this equation?  After all, in the world of golf he’s as big of an icon as God, and his sins may not be any less, or more?

We have presidents, prime ministers, dictators, chancellors from around the world that have sinned, sexually and through mass murder.  Radical Muslims take lives if you don’t believe in Allah.

I would rather see them have sex, but perhaps they are doing that before they are blowing up others and themselves, just in case the promised land is not what has been promised.

In the United States President Jimmy Carter admitted to having ‘lust’, perhaps that is why he was only a one term president.

John F. Kennedy did it with movie starlets, as well as mob molls while being married to Jackie.

Bill Clinton did it in the oval office and with many others before, but he delivered beautiful eulogies.

President Obama hasn’t picked a new church, since the last one didn’t work too well for him.

I understand that he now prays over his Blackberry.

I don’t want to have this discussion with my grandchildren.
