The American people have told the Obama Administration loud and clear they do not want big government health care. But despite the large ears, he doesn’t hear.
There is an arrogance about this man of change – it is not the change the people voted for – it’s Obama change.
Now if it were the change people voted for, why would the President give himself a B+ as a grade for his first year in office, when a Rasmussen poll released today says Obama’s approval index is -19%? Oh yes, I know it’s a picture of the moment; but it goes on to say his strong approval rating is 22%, the lowest score he has had in one year and his strong disapproval rating is 41%.
It’s almost like the voters in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts didn’t speak in recent elections that replaced Democratic governors and a senator, turning down Obamacare.
And today, the arrogance of it all culminated with the ‘President’s Proposal For Health Care’, a $1 Trillion – but more like $2 Trillion when the Congressional Budget Office gets to assess the bill, which it cannot due because the President didn’t provide the details – health care push regurgitating much of the Senate bill that the people turned down.
One might have thought Obama would drag out the teleprompters, to explain what has already been explained, further. But no, he will do this on Thursday as a photo-op for himself and his party.
This all comes four-days before a bipartisan meeting at the White House between Republicans and Democrats to discuss health care reform. Everyone agrees that it is necessary. But the people turned down the Dem proposals and the GOP wants to start over – Obama wants to ram it through. Arrogance! Mendacity!
According to Fox News, someone in DC was quoted as saying: “This is much like going to marriage counsel on Wednesday after filing for divorce on Tuesday.”
Yes, it is Kabuki Theater in DC, and Obama has made it into more of a farce than it was, while promising something else.
Perhaps it is time for the President to visit an audiologist for a hearing aid fitting so he can listen to the voters roar in the mid-term elections of 2010 and his re-run in 2012 – that is if he has the arrogance to run for a second term.
