Sen. Evan Bayh Democrat from Indiana who announced last week that he would not seek a third term because of ‘gridlock’ in the Congress and thought he could make a greater contribution elsewhere, was a guest on ‘The View’ and the ladies of same seemed to be more interested in their views than his.

Joy Behar, a liberal comedian, a  co-host who much like the others wear their politics openly on their lips, accused Byah of sounding like Sara Palin.

Bayh shot back with a gesture looking in the palm of his hand mimicking Palin’s notes on her hand during a CPAC speech.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the only conservative co-host on The View, called the move by both a ‘cheap shot.’

Meanwhile, Woopi Goldberg the crude and crass co-host, took Bayh’s brief comments at this point in the non-interview, by creating an analogy saying it was, “Much like wizzzing into the wind and not liking what was coming back.”

Byah trying to get a word in, did manage to say that there was ‘anger’ in Congress and it has become ‘tribal.’  Barbara Walters, the only journalist on the panel tried to move things along, but to no avail.

The only brief question came from Hasselbeck when she asked, what is it that you would like to do?  Byah mentioned a ‘University President’ or working for some ‘charity.’

Walters pressed Byah as to whether he would someday return to politics, he said: “It is possible . . .  the last chapter of my political life has not been written”   He cited as serious concerns the nation’s debt, finance reform and doing away with the filibuster.

Sherri Shepherd had the day off.

The View billed Byah’s appearance as a news-maker.  Well if the ladies of The View want news, they better learn to ask questions as journalists, allow guests to answer questions, get out of the hen house and stop stepping on each others lines, least of all the guests.
