Once upon a time there lived an arrogant, vain, articulate good looking President whose only worry in life was to redistribute wealth, much like in the image of Robin Hood.  He thought government could cure all, take care of everyone and the more he appeared before his people the more they would admire him and he could bamboozle them with his agenda.

He mastered the teleprompter like none other, but there were times when the teleprompter faltered or crashed to the floor and he was not as articulate as he appeared to be without it.  He was in the people’s face as often as possible to disseminate his progressive thesis.

He was smooth, and with a playbook out of the left suggesting socialism with supporters within his administration boasting the likes of Communistic leanings and admiring the likes of Mao, Che, Chavez and Fidel, but the people didn’t seem to recognize what was going on because this cool dude, appearing with the lanky and toned arms of his wife at his side, continued to spin the same yarn that put him in office.

His campaign promises were quickly forgotten by the people and him and he was being given a free ride by the media – it was more than a honeymoon.

He traveled the world apologizing for the Nation’s past and was welcomed wherever he went putting down his country with his hidden agenda.

It was all of what he inherited and he was about to change all of this by putting as much as he could on his plate in his first year in office, because the more rapidly he could push through his agenda the better the nation would be.  He wanted health care reform — everyone should be covered including illegal aliens.

He wanted climate change.  He wanted to stimulate the economy because it was in bad shape – so he stimulated it by spending,  jobs were lost at a rapid rate, people lost their houses, banks failed, he bailed out Wall Street, the auto industry and the banking industry.  Unemployment soared, but he stayed the course with health care for a full year.

He met with his advisers and they all told him his old suit was working. It was still a full house. The people were buying it, despite some naysayers.  They suggested quelling the right wing media with the ‘fairness doctrine’.

“Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead.”

He was weak on defense, gave terrorists a free ride when caught and wanted to free those that were captured because of his left wing leanings.

Meanwhile the President’s party lost gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey, trips to Europe failed to bring home the Olympics to Chicago and a trip to Copenhagen to sell climate warming resulted in a cold freeze.  His polls dipped to new lows.

The President was likable, affable but didn’t seem to have any coattails.

Now the President was ready to ram the health care bill through, with full control of his party when out of no where a tea party erupted in Boston and a Republican Senatorial candidate upset a Democratic candidate in a stronghold held for decades by the Democrats.

The voters in Massachusetts, said, “The President is naked.”

The next day in the Oval office the President’s advisers said, “Mr. President you need to change suit.”

I thank the tailor from Copenhagen, Hans Christian Anderson for allowing me to update a good story.
