We are nearly 10 years into the 21st Century and we didn’t get off to a very good start with the likes of 9/11.
But the Bush administration kept us safe from further threats on our soil for the next 8 years since that catastrophic radical Muslim attack on our nation, which many seem to have a short memory for in the current administration, to the point that they don’t recognize that we have been and are currently in a war on terror.
Henceforth, we evolve from the first decade of the 21st Century with a charade of exponential decay of our Democracy with what appears to be the primary goal of President Obama’s socialistic thesis of wealth redistribution with a plethora of programs to meet that objective.
Symbolism is an operative word in the Obama administration.
They wanted to see and project Gitmo as a symbol of what they wanted to strike as a significant difference from the Bush Administration, its interrogation techniques under an act of war and under the guidelines of the Geneva Convention. But Obama projected it as torture. So he wants to fulfill a campaign promise to shut down one of the most effective prisons we have for terrorists of war and send detainees to Illinois, all at taxpayer expense. One of the Obama objectives was to see that justice was served under US law.
The hypocrisy here is that some of these prisoners will never see the light of justice no matter where they will be held, all of which is contrary to Obama’ righteous rhetoric.
There have been a number of hypocritical symbols within the past few years – lets examine some of these charades, try not to be too cynical about them, but question what happened to our values:
- Before former Vice President Al Gore lost his presidential bid to dangling chads in Florida, he invented the information highway, now known as the Internet. We don’t hear him talking much about this today. No, today it’s an inconvenient lie about global warming winning him the Nobel Peace Prize, while spilling carbon emissions from his fleet of jets, promoting science fiction around the world and becoming a billionaire.
- Then there is Ben Bernanke who wants to be reappointed as Chairman of the Federal Reserve, and was recently named man of the year by Time who encouraged the spending of $700 billion of taxpayer money for TARP, but does not want to see regulatory powers taken away from the Fed because it could lead to instability. Someone said that his concern over the Fed’s role in maintaining financial stability is a bit like Hormel expressing concern over the treatment of cattle.
- Oh and there is Barney Frank who has always been fond of Fannie . . .Mae & Freddie . . . Mac giving out all those mortgages to people who couldn’t afford them in the first place. Both need about a trillion more of a bailout to survive. Barney will be there for them.
- And how can we forget Tiger Woods in all of this symbolism of charades. He was named Athlete of the Decade by the Associated Press. It more appropriately might have been called ’swinger of the decade,’ for a lifetime of dalliances.
- But it was President Barack Hussein Obama who walked away with the Nobel Peace Prize for Hope. He wasn’t in office but for a few months when the nomination for this award was submitted. He won the prize for being a hopeful peace president while conducting two wars, but with few achievements and lots of promises – few of which he has managed to deliver. Obama grows government, spends taxpayer monies, runs banking and investment companies and the auto industry while pushing for health care reform and cap and trade, all with the blatant agenda of global redistribution of wealth.
The two most significant pieces of legislation that moves towards this goal would include health care and cap and trade.
Obama is pushing hard for these bills, although the American public is against both by a margin of 2-1.
While the US contingent arrived in Copenhagen for the finality of a debate on climate warming appropriately a chilling blizzard swept over the two week conference.
It is interesting how this debate on global warming plays out. Two of the largest violators of carbon emissions happens to be China and India,
If a treaty were to be agreed upon, the US would have to borrow money from China to pay them for their contribution to alleged global warming with interest, because of our alleged contribution to global warming, pushing the US into further debt.
And with all of this nonsense going on Obama threatens the people of America, just before he takes off for his second junket to Copenhagen this month spilling more carbon emissions over an alleged warming climate, with bankruptcy if health care reform doesn’t go through. We are already on the verge of bankruptcy with the current spending policies, what makes one think that if health care doesn’t go through it will push our nation over the precipice.
It’s a shame we don’t have awards for charades of the decade. After all, this all happened in the first year of the Obama administration and we have three more years of charades before we can give the Tea Party a shot at straightening out this country.
