Obama’s naivete’ never ceases to amaze me, in many ways it is analogous to the Tiger Woods’ dilemma.  While Tiger Woods was bent on extra marital affairs and felt he was impervious to any form of criticism because he believed his press clippings of being the greatest golfer and had the power to do as he pleased;  Obama thinks he is the greatest president and will transform America  into the image he wishes it to be, again based upon the mainstream media pumping up an ego.

Two Afro-American superstars rising like a meteor  – but more like falling stars.

The latest Obama move, because he is stubborn and not practical, is to take Gitmo from Cuba and move it to Illinois, transforming an image from one place to another.

This according to the White House would make the United States more secure, and removes “a recruiting tool that Guantanamo Bay has come to symbolize” for terror organizations.

What a lame excuse to fulfill another empty campaign promise.

Oh, there may be terrorist’s propaganda tapes out there that are citing Gitmo as a symbol of what America stands for in capturing prisoners of war under the Geneva Convention and detaining them.

But so what.

What evidence does US intelligence have that Gitmo is an effective symbol for the enemy of recruiting terrorists?  Do we really know how many terrorists there are out there?

Is there someone within our government counting sheets,  beards, sandals, walking sticks or head gear?

And, are they assessing the impact of what a Gitmo symbol might be achieving in recruiting terrorists around the world, and what is the protocol for such a study to determine this?

There is no danger to the citizens of Thompson Illinois, they will be safe and secure from these detainees because those that caused us harm in the past will not escape from this Federal prison.

But the danger in this transfer of these detainees, is to our democracy.  For we are now giving them the right that each citizen of the United States has – to be tried under our system of justice.

It provides them the right to full disclosure and the right to speak their hatred, which would not take place in a military tribunal, and thus reveals intelligence that should not be disclosed to an enemy.

Likewise the Obama move to try 9/11 terrorists provides the same opportunity in a New York court of law.

And, all of this at what cost to the taxpayer?

Gitmo is a safe, secure and sophisticated prison for the purpose it was designed for – enemy terrorists.  Now, again at taxpayer expense we are going to do something else with the White House admitting that some of these detainees will be held indefinitely and will never be tried.  Hypocrisy!

What we have here is more of the same left wing mendacity that we have seen in other issues confronting this administration.

The symbolism that Americans need to be concerned about and address, is the erosion of our constitution and democracy from within.
