global warming cow

Oh, say it ain’t so; the gas from Al Gore and cows is not warming the climate despite what scientists wanted us to believe.

Evidence from hacked e-mail messages and documents show that climate scientists conspired to overstate the case for human influence on climate change.

The climate is not warming and scientists don’t know why and they don’t want to tell you why they don’t know why.

Hundreds of private e-mail messages and documents were obtained from a British university.  They were messages exchanged between prominent British and American scientists who were conspiring to overstate the case for human influence on climate change and then attempt to hide their disappointing findings.

One of the prominent scientists, Kevin Trenberth of the US National Center for Atmospheric Research, was quoted in an e-mail saying “we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t”

Is it a travesty to tell the truth?  Or is it more important to prove a premise that might not be true?

Few people know the competition in scientific research, the peril of not being published as a Ph.D.  Whether it is in the field of medicine or science, the academics tend to develop a protocol to support the popular thesis, or the thesis that provides the most dollars.

The New York Times, while not revealing the contents of all the e-mails but doing so in the past when obtaining  top secret US intelligence in a similar manner, because these e-mail documents were obtained illegally, said that in one e-mail exchange, a scientist writes of using a statistical “trick” in a chart illustrating a recent sharp warming trend.  In another, a scientist refers to climate skeptics as “idiots.”

Now what do these revelations mean?  It doesn’t come at a good time for the Copenhagen climate summit next month as representatives of 191 nations seek agreement on a new global treaty on limiting emissions of greenhouse gases.

It is also not going to bode well for Obama’s cap and trade bill that was allegedly designed to create jobs, help the economy while stabilizing the climate – a climate that doesn’t need fixing.

Al, bon appetit with that filet mangon while flying on your Gulf Stream Jet to pick up your next Nobel in Oslo.
