A reasonable amount of time has passed since the carnage at Fort Hood – 13 Dead, 28 wounded – by the alleged shooter Major Malik Nadal Hasan, a devout Muslim – but not a word of compassion, or denouncement of the act has come from the Muslim community in the United States.

What are we to believe about this religion when one of their own allegedly commits such a horrific act and the Muslim community remains silent?

Yet our government, to be politically correct, suggests that we should not jump to conclusions and our US Homeland Security secretary says she is working to prevent a possible wave of anti-Muslim sentiment after the shootings at Fort Hood, Texas on Thursday.

Janet Napolitano issues this statement from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, stating that her agency is working with groups across the United States to try to deflect any backlash against American Muslims following the rampage by Maj. Hasan.

Napolitano was in the United Arab Emirates, according to the Associated Press, on Sunday for talks with security officials and a meeting with women university students in Abu Dhabi.

It seems to me that the US Muslim silence goes a long way to deliver a message that should give our government serious concern about a backlash.
