It is incomprehensible why the Obama administration would want to close the terrorist prison in Guantanamo Bay (Gitmo) and transfer cells of Jihadi to U. S. Prisons.

Why bother to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan only to transfer known terrorists in Gitmo to US prisons where they can convert prison populations to radical Islamists for Jihadi in the US?

It has long been known that radical Islamists have targeted prison populations for recruitment for years.  Of any given prison population in the US, one in 10 inmates are converted to Islam.

The movement began in the 1970′s under Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan to evangelize inmates.

Most of the inmates who convert to Islam are African-American, and are attracted to Islam for its discipline and belief of equality.

Muslim communities in prisons provide some of the same benefits of gangs.  They protect one another.

Muslims say they pray five times a day, a constant reminder of their faith helping them to stay on a straight path.

However, terrorists plots have been developed  in prisons.

According to the Investigative Project on Terrorism, the man who was the head Muslim Chaplin for New York state prisons considered the 9/11 hijackers to be martyrs.  Warith Deen Umar spent 20 years working with New York prisons.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism, obtained an audio tape of a speech Umar gave in 2004.  He told his audience that victory for Islam would not come without loss:

“Brothers, be prepared to fight, be prepared to die, be prepared to kill.  It’s a part of the deen, and this ain’t your brother just saying this, this is history, this is Quran, nobody can deny it, and we need to let the enemies know . . . . Rise up and fight.  And fight them until turmoil is no more and strike terror into their hearts.  You think there is no terror in Quran?  It’s called (word unclear) read it in the 56th surah of the Quran.  There is no lack of translation, there’s no mistranslation.  There’s not one Sheikh says one thing, no, it’s very clear. When you fight, you strike terror into the heart of the disbeliever.”

The plan to permit terrorist suspects held at Gitmo, one of the premier prisons of its kind, transferred to US prisons passed the Senate by a 79-19 vote, having previously passed the House, now goes to Obama for his signature.

This was all part of the Obama pledge to close Gitmo in Cuba by years’ end.  The administration is required to adopt a plan; requires 15 days’ notice before a transfer can occur and certification that the prisoner does not represent a security risk.  It allows the continue transfer of Gitmo detainees at Gitmo to the US for prosecution.

“Prosecuting these individuals in our US courts simply will not work and there is too much at stake to grant the unprecedented benefit of our legal system’s complex procedural safeguards to foreign nationals who were captured outside the United States during a time of war,” said Sen Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga.

Dick Durbin, D-Ill. says, “Guantanamo must be closed because it’s become a recruiting tool for a-Qaida and other terrorists.”

However, no one is addressing how the transfer of these detainees may very well result in the recruitment of US prison inmates to Islam, generating another hatched terrorist plot of Jihad on our own soil.
