I don’t know, the face on the right is a bit thinner
than the one on the left, but which one is more honest?
There are pockets of niceness in New Jersey, but you have to search for them – I know, I hail from the Garden State and once found those pockets. But for the most part New Jersey is known for big time corruption, scandal, oil refineries and an image that belies its nickname which more likely resembles the Garbage State, than greenery. On Sunday President Obama will make his third trip to New Jersey on behalf of incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine who is in a dead heat with the Republican challenger Chris Christie, which clearly signals what’s on the line for this socialist administration.
Jon Corzine, as I, found one of those pockets of niceness in New Jersey that I referred to. It was Summit, NJ, where he once lived with his former wife while working for Goldman Sachs. After leaving Goldman with a parachute buyout of some $400 million, buying off his wife, and subsequently his mistress, and then buying his way into the US Senate and finally into the Governorship of New Jersey, he now finds himself in the rarefied air of the Obama clique using Chicago-style politics to save a governorship. Quite appropriate I might say; Chicago and New Jersey have something in common.
And, isn’t it interesting how Obama is playing ball with one of those extraordinarily high salary-paid bonus-baby executives he now decries?
What is it that Corzine has brought to New Jersey since he has been governor? He has increased taxes by $2 Billion, took the state into a budget deficit, raised taxes on just about everything including gym memberships to landscaping. He increased tolls in the state and tried to pass a plan that would put tolls on roads that do not currently have any.
He has driven business out of New Jersey and took unemployment from 4.3% at the beginning of his term to above 9.3% at the end of his term.
Sound familiar – perhaps it’s wealth re-distribution. That is, the distribution of everybody’s wealth but the Governor’s and the President’s.
And who is it that Prince Corzine is running against, well it’s a fatty, who Corzine doesn’t call him by name – but by innuendo. He is Chris Christie, a former US attorney. You see, if you don’t have anything to defend yourself, you attack on any front you can- and what’s better than attacking weight today; after all there’s a lot of substance!
Christie is heavy, but he’s a better alternative than Corzine’s State of corruption, taxes, deficits, tolls assaults on business and an unemployment rate approaching 10%.
President Obama will make two campaign stops on behalf of Corzine in Camden and Newark. I want to assure you Mr. President, these are not two pockets of niceness in New Jersey – but you may find the Chicago-style votes you are looking for.
