Although not at all so surprising, The New York Times today in an editorial entitled ‘Respect Your Children’ thought it was ‘silly’ that conservatives were revolting over President Obama’s speech next Tuesday to school children, pre K through 6th graders, on the broad subject of ‘education’ because as they said ‘ right wing demagogues’ feared he was delivering ‘socialist propaganda.’ Well Grey Lady, it was not just ‘right wing demagogues’ protesting, it was democrats and liberals as well, and if you did your research you too would have found hidden under cleverly worded terms ‘socialistic propaganda’ in the pre-lesson plan which the White House disseminated and has now modified.
And, if this were not so, why did the President re-work the pre-lesson plan? Was it just because of the ‘fishy’ misrepresentations put out by ‘right wing demagogues’? Why did the Times not include the following provocative questions in its editorial that the White House in cooperation with the Education Secretary Arne Duncan sent out in advance to school systems across the country to discuss with children? The kids were to be indoctrinated to think about: What is the President asking them to do? What new ideas and actions is the President challenging them to think about? They were to be encouraged to think about how the President is inspiring them and how they can help him? And lastly they were encouraged to create and develop posters about the President.
No, it is not surprising that the Times, as the left wing liberal mouthpiece for the White House, would not see socialistic propaganda buried within the questions and a communications strategy that we have seen employed by communist nations around the world.
When the Times says the conservatives identified a socialist message, but nobody said what they meant by that – they were wrong. Read the questions; they are asking the kids to think about and to ‘help’ the president with. These are not innocuous questions, they are provocative with an intent to obviously brainwash at the grassroots level. How, will school children, pre K through 6th grade ‘help’ the President?
The President is to deliver the speech Tuesday to students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Va., and it will be broadcast on the White House’s Website and Secretary Duncan has encouraged principals across the country to have their students tune in. Interesting to note, the address is live to High School students, yet the target is pre K through 6 – rather confusing demographics for the same message? It is a clear attempt at mind manipulation worthy of an ad campaign by the hidden persuaders.
Come on New York Times, you really can’t be that naive?
And if communications is not confusing enough out of the White House with their inability to explain what they mean about anything including education and Health Care Reform, with out a series of modifications on most issues, the Times in this editorial further muddies the waters by veering off the subject at hand and discussing town hall meetings, health care, shouting matches and death panels — a diversionary tactic hardly worth attributing to a PR flack.
And so, the New York Times myopic liberal vision continues by erring on the side of omission of facts, in order to deliver an editorial message in behalf of the White House.
