Camels head in the tent

The people have spoken loud and clear in Town Hall meetings across this nation on President Obama’s Health Care Reform – in a venue he has always liked until now – vociferously objecting to Big Government taking over Health Care in this Democracy.

Common sense tells us it is time for this administration to listen to the people, regroup and rethink and not fix what is not broken, but fix within the current system what is wrong.

The people have spoken and they do not want Big Government involved with their health care and making decisions for what treatment they should or should not have.

They do not want government involved, at any age, in the decisions they and their families make about their own health — whether it be cradle to grave.

But Obama, in his rather arrogant way, stonewalls these grass roots messages, calling them ‘manufactured’, or ‘organized’ and as he is on the defensive run as he tries to spin his messages to villains — the insurance industry and of course the Republicans who have not been included in any form of bipartisanship health care discussions.

And so, Obama arrogantly ‘guarantees’ that health care reform will pass.

Well there is no question that his party is in control.  Why make a villain out of the GOP? You’ve got the votes?  Isn’t that transparent to the people?

So ram it through over the majority of the peoples’ objections – and do so at the peril of the wishes of the people, your party, yourself and the good of the country during these troublesome economic times.  Yes this is a time when your administration has projected a 10-year deficit of $9 Trillion.

In case your czars and your White House advisers, including one who is allegedly on the take from the health care industry, doesn’t quite understand what you and your surrogates are delivering in the form of messages, using terms such as ‘single payer’ and ‘public option’ and ‘insurance marketplace exchange’, you apparently need some remedial education in communications that a teleprompter can’t deliver.

I went out to dinner this evening and while traveling on Rt. 41 heading north on the West Coast of Florida, there were a handful of individuals with handmade signs on three interspersed intersections  that said ‘Down With Health Care Reform.’  I must say, as cynical as I can be, I was impressed.  This was truly grass roots, no outlandish comments, no violence, no media – just a message from the people.

And when the message is on the street corners it is a good sign.  However, it is truly important for the people to understand that no form of health care reform should be passed.  There is good reason to begin again, common sense says if we need health care reform, let’s think it through and listen to the people.

The people cannot allow the camel’s head into the tent; for it is better to prevent what is wrong at the outset than to try and correct a wrong to a right as an after thought.
