Clarification: My reference to one being a wordsmith was about Her not me! Although this may be one point that we agree upon with respect to Dowd, I am hardly in awe of her moralistic columns any more than I am of mine.

I was sitting in Harry's Bar drinking Bellinis with an expatriate acquaintance when he slid his Mac over for me to read Maureen Dowd's recent column. We are both admirers of her and believe she is among the finest journalists of our time. Personally, I am in awe of her ability to encapsulate complex, serious issues with clarity and at times biting sarcasm and humor. She borders on genius and is so deserving of her Pulitzer Prize. A legitimate wordsmith not a self-claimed one.
To describe her column on Palin as misogynistic is nonsense. It's similar to claiming that all criticism of Obama is racist.
It is very moralistic of you to state that mental disorder is beyond fairness and is a journalistic crime far greater than plagiarism. Do you really believe that the piranhas of the right would sit on a story if it involved leading democrats having some therapy sessions?
You also failed to note that in Dowd's column she also included additional politicians whose staffs were concerned about their mental stability.
