When President Bush called 9/11 and the loss of some 3,000 lives a ‘War On Terror’ he called a spade a shovel and when the Obama administration made a segway today to relabeling this tragedy and our response to this attack an “Overseas Contingency Operation” , he dishonors an extraordinary loss of lives greater than what President Roosevelt called the ‘Day of Infamy’  when we entered World War II.

It is a sad state of affairs when our administration does not recognize the extremist of Muslim terror that exists globally and doesn’t  label it for what it is.

Do we want to stand up for what is right — or do we just want to be liked?

Let us examine the administration’s words.  “Overseas” a word that means beyond, or across the sea.  It seems to me that it was New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC where the the attacks took place and the terrorists were Muslims.  Somehow “Overseas” doesn’t seem to work.  And according to reports, some of these terrorist cells are still operating within the United States today.

The word “Contingency”  is very philosophical, meaning that it can be true or false.   Are we doubtful about what happened?  Is this why we are closing Gitmo, because we captured the wrong terrorists?

And now we have the word “Operation”.  Well, how confusing can this be.  It could be a game, which it is, or, a scientific or surgical procedure, it could involve business or law, or for that matter even music.  But more likely one might be talking about military, covert or perhaps a sting operation.

I don’t know, but it seems to me that the administration wants to make it innocuous by toning down the obvious.  Hardly transparent.

I find it to be insulting to the lives loss, and cowardly to the principles of the United States.
