On Friday night, 2/20/09 Glen Beck, the new right wing conservative columnist of Fox News, conducted a War Games show with a number of contributors that played a game, that Fox warned would be beyond the reality of today, but possible by projection to the year of 2014.  War Games are held by Corporations, Governments and others to play out scenarios of what might be and how to prevent same.  It covered the inconceivable, the possible demise of the United States.

Now the demise of Nations is not an inconceivable reality — it has happened before, how about the Roman Empire?

A Russian professor recently predicted the demise of the United States as a power.

With the recent global economic crisis, dramatically affecting the power of the United States , economically, militarily and from a global image basis, Beck and company played-out a war game of what could come, but really couldn’t project or address what could be done to prevent it. I have played and have run War Games as a consultant and they are a worthwhile exercise.

Here are some bullet point notes that I took that came out of this show that are  worth pondering:

• NY could look like Mexico City
• Major cities across the world could look like Calcutta
• Government  is allowed to run away with itself
• It has occurred with other countries in recent times leading to the decline of Brazil, Argentina and Russia
• Hyperinflation leads to currency becoming valueless; government debases money
• People barter for services
• When no one loans anymore — we print more money, leading to inflation
• Social Security is not safe
• Government no longer tolerates dissent; thereby curbing freedom of speech
• One party rule clamps down on freedom of speech
• We wind up with stimulus czars and speech czars
• Rich people live in fortresses; gated communities prevail
• Criminality prevails
• An economic 9/11
• A built-up society of entitlement
• A disbursement of wealth becomes rampant
• Individual militias develop with civil unrest
• Prolonged depression starves money, allowing Iran to take over Mideast
• It becomes the perfect storm
• Possibility of middle east war put at 55%
• What happens when America is not there?
• Middle East is going to fold like a cheap wallet
• Civil unrest will develop
• Taxes in 2014 — 80 – 95%
• US will look like Dodge City
• Military trains for civil unrest
• Think the unthinkable and you will have a better chance of survival
• Where does God fit into equation?
• Faith in God, family, friends a chance for survival
• We are a country of individuals
• Listen to your gut — prepare for the worst
• 50 million people will be unemployed in the world by 2014
• Stand-up for yourself

Keep in mind these are notes from a War Game projecting to 2014 by Glen Beck.  However, on the basis of where we are today these projections seem to resemble what is to come,  the law of the jungle and the survival of the fittest.  It almost makes one think that our past was a land of OZ and today we may well be heading towards a reality of what is to come unless we the people have the foresight and leadership to change the current direction in which we are heading.
