President Obama’s first press conference can be summed up in one word, Boring, that’s a six letter word Vice President Biden. He gave a 10 minute opening comment and then gave a longer speech following each of the 13 questions from pre-selected reporters.
I hope you knew that he is provided with a grid of reporters, pre-selected by his press secretary, and for the most part they were puff balls making one think the questions were pre-screened.
The answers by Obama were too long, delivered nothing new and consisted of 58 minutes of pap that was enough to put the elderly to sleep and the youngest to switch channels.
The headline was: “Obama Says Stimulus Vital To Avoid ‘Catastrophe”, even with a bill that he says has no earmarks, but I see some pork coming from partisan pens.
A real surprise from what he has been delivering to the people but not the opposition party to create what he promised bipartisanship.
Obama doesn’t believe doing nothing is in fact doing something when it comes to the economy, even though history has proven him wrong over and over again globally.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackBut isn’t it refreshing that we now have a president who can speak lucidly and intelligently for 58 minutes regardless of what your opinion of the content?
You also should know that most presidential press conferences have pre-selected reporters especially when critical legislation is pending or major world events are occurring.
I do admit that President Obama is very articulate and this is refreshing. Although I do have trouble with some of his content, which is hypocritical today as compared to the promises of yesterday. I do realize that pre-selection of reporters questions takes place in presidential conferences, even the location of seating, and this has been the case in all administrations. I have been on both sides of this scene, as a reporter and one who has staged them . . . I just want my readers to understand this.
