I guess you can’t come from Chicago and find yourself in the right neighborhood at least that seems to be true for president-elect Barack Obama.

Now let’s make it clear at the outset that there is no evidence of any connection between Obama and Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and the alleged charges, among others, by the Feds today against the governor that he tried to sell the seat Obama is vacating when he becomes president.  That is at this point in the investigation.

However, Major Garrett of Fox News did report that David Axlerod said Obama did contact Gov. Blagojevich about the Senate seat, but later in the day the Obama camp said Axlerod misspoke.  Obama himself said that he himself did not have contact with the governor of Illinois or his office.

Nevertheless the convicted felon Tony Resko, a bagman for Blagojevich and someone who helped Obama buy his house, was associated with both and it is a known fact that Sen. Obama was an early supporter of Blagojevich and likewise Blagojevich was a supporter of Obama’s.

You can’t be part of the Chicago Democratic Machine and be in the right neighborhood.  It has always been a system of ‘pay to play.’  Extortion is synonymous with Illinois politics and always has been dating back to when Joseph Kennedy bought votes for his son, President John F. Kennedy.

Again our president-elect Obama finds that he is distancing himself from someone he knows and has supported as part of the machine, not much different than the following associations he has tried to distance himself from: Bill Ayers, a terrorist who threatened to blow up the Pentagon; Bernadine Dohrn, a former Weathermen terrorist with Ayers; the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., who helped Barack find Jesus and condemned America by saying, “God Damn America”; Rashid Khalidi, a former spokesperson for Yasser Arafat’s PLO; the organization ACORN, who Obama worked with and counseled; and the Rev. Michael Pfleger, who Obama has known for years, but was forced to rebuke for his attack on Hillary Clinton.

Parents try to counsel their children to, “be careful who you associate with, because people make judgments about those associations.”

Yes, that’s the way it is in this world and despite Obama’s elitist education there was something he missed along the way about associations — or was there?

How can one have so many dubious and questionable relationships?

He again, with his silver tongue, will try to distance himself from this corruption; however, the depth to which this investigation goes may not leave him unscathed.

Perhaps it was just the neighborhood.
