A few days after the inauguration Barack Obama, the first black President of the United States, held a meeting in the Oval office on three critical issues facing America, the economy, the Iraq war and terrorism.

Present for this meeting were three Cabinet members, and  their assistants all close friends and some advisors to the President during his presidential campaign: Franklin Raines, Secretary of the Treasury and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fannie Mae; Tony Rezko, Secretary Department of Defense, and convicted felon; William Ayers, Secretary of Homeland Security, and former terrorist with the Weathermen, who threatened to blow up the Pentagon.

Also at the meeting were Under Secretaries to the Cabinet members: Under Secretary of the Treasury, Tim Howard, former Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae;  Bernadine Dohrn Under Secretary of Defense and a former Weathermen terrorist with William Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. Undersecretary of Homeland Security, who was known for finding Jesus for our President and his classic statement from the pulpit, “God Damn America”

It was a stalwart collection of key cabinet members  brought together to deal with key critical issues facing the future of America and each was asked to use their expertise and past ‘successful’ accomplishments to deal with future problems.

Obama called the meeting to order reminding everyone how tough he is, having come from Chicago and surviving the most vitriolic national election campaign ever.

He pointed out that there were more murders in Chicago in the last six months than in Iraq, 292 to 221, giving him the experience to execute a rapid withdrawal of our troops from a place they shouldn’t have been in the first place.

He pointed to the importance of a Democratic controlled congress.  “Just look at what we did in Chicago, with me as senator, along with Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov Rod Blogojevich, House leader Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan, Mayor Richard Daley, all Democrats.”

Then Barack reviewed the record in Chicago, the State pension fund was $44 billion in debt, worst in the country.  Cook County sales tax 10.25%, highest in the country and the Chicago school system one of the worst in the country.  Obama then said, “This is the political culture that we can bring to the United States.”

He then said to each of his Cabinet members that he was confident that he had appointed the appropriate persons, based upon their past accomplishments, to a leadership role to face these three critical issues.

It was then that I woke up from a bad dream, in a cold sweat.
