I’m bias.  But I thought Sarah Palin took Joe Biden Caribou hunting in tonight’s VP debate and tried to teach him to shoot straight, although his facts were off the mark on several counts.

Now, to be fair and balanced I said in the first Presidential debate that McCain took Obama to the woodshed.  And I believe that was the case. But not everybody agreed with me.

Although Biden did what he had to do — hold his own.  But, in holding his own, I thought he lost, dramatically.

Palin demonstrated that she was comfortable in her environment; she was enthusiastic and delivered her message points on target.  Middle America reacted, “she’s just like us.”

Most of the night Biden referenced votes in Congress — Obama/Biden v McCain and in many instances Biden inaccurately portrayed McCain’s position.  Biden made at least 10 factual mistakes, according to those measuring points on the basis of the accuracy of statements.

And Palin called him on each false premise.

I thought Biden was more on the defensive than the offensive.

The Palin reaction from people watching in Middle America was interesting with words such as “feisty, informal, forceful, knowledgeable and no mistakes.”

The media set Palin up to fail after her interviews with Katie Couric of CBS News, but she showed what a comeback point guard can due when under pressure.

She delivered match point and won the set.

As I have said before perception is reality — the perception is that Sarah Palin won the match.

I can not sign off without giving my complements to the Moderator, Gwen Ifill, of PBS, who has written a pro-Obama book, yet to be published, and did a very objective job as an arbiter.  I called for her to step down but she showed that she can be a very objective journalist/moderator even though her leanings are left wing.
