I was shocked, Obama the dude that stepped off the helicopter with suit bag over his shoulder and designer eye shades on his face was taken to the woodshed by the ‘old man’ McCain in the first debate of the Presidential candidates.

The political pundits predicted that if Obama held his own in the first debate he would be a winner.  In my opinion, McCain was the overwhelming winner, both on the economy and foreign policy, which was the subject of the debate.

There were no sound bites of significance.

I saw McCain as overwhelming Obama with foreign policy knowledge, history, strategy and tactics and it showed in Obama’ body language several times.

McCain gave Obama a lesson in the definition of language semantics and naivety.

It was a spiritual debate with a strong finish by McCain.

However, as long as I have been covering news events, I must admit that what others see and hear with different eyes and assimilation of hearing and bias, I am surprised at the difference of the take away by some political pundits.

But factually, Obama agreed with McCain 8 times and McCain attacked Obama 7 times and didn’t agree with him once.

Obama came off as the lecturer, while McCain seemed to talk to the people.
