The JibJab team is back, in true political circus form with ‘Time for Some Campaigin’, an  outstanding hilariously funny parody staring Bush, Obama, McCain, Hillary Clinton and a cameo appearance by Bill smoking a cigar.

The inside development is explained on the JibJab web site by Evan and Gregg Spiridellis who found their operation 81/2 years ago in a garage: “Our latest musical romp is a parody of Bob Dylan’s 1960’s political anthem, The Times They Are A-Changin’. We thought Dylan’s true call for revolutionary change juxtaposed against the modern political process would be funny.  Plus, we just wanted an excuse to use the word “juxtaposed” in our blog.”

According to the website there are three basic phases to creating a JibJab:

Pre-production, coming up with the idea, writing the lyrics and laying the ground work

Production, doing the actual designing and animating.

And, post production, all the stuff to get it ready to share.

The opening slate of the new parody is on the White House lawn where moving vans are parked and furniture is ready to be loaded into trucks.  The next scene quickly moves to the Oval Office where George Bush is sitting on a desk being moved by workmen and Bush is strumming a banjo. Bush in the parody covers war, recession, bad mortgage loans and Cheney makes a cameo trying to save a legacy.  McCain’s bus appears and Bush says of McCain “he’s a ‘jack ass that’s liberally prone.”

Hillary pops on the scene lamenting her close race while Bill’s sitting in a chair smoking a cigar saying, “You we’re so close my darling, but alas no cigar.” Hillary pushes him over in the chair, as a bikini-babe stands nearby with a box of cigars.

Hillary fades out saying “I’ll be back in 4 years, it ain’t so far.”

McCain appears in a tank with a one star General’s helmet, appealing for the conservative vote.

The next McCain scene he’s walking down a hospital corridor pushing an IV saying, “Forget my skin cancer and swollen left gland,” then keels over on the hospital floor.

Obama appears romping through the woods with animals following, talking about being tired of divisiveness exchange and I have two things to say about change,” I really like change and I’ve made it clear. There’s change we must change that we hold dear . . . we are change.”

Obama and McCain arm and arm noting they have spent billions to make ourselves clear, spinning around the voters then poking them in the rear while singing ‘Time for Some Campaigin’.

JibJab serves up some equal opportunity busters, but is fair and balanced with the parody.

This spoof follows the hit of four years ago staring Kerry and Bush called, ‘This Land’, which received some 80 million hits on the internet.
