If you can’t play the game, change the rules and silent the voices of those radio talk show hosts who speak against liberal political policies.  That’s what the Democrats have in mind.

John Gizzi of Human Events.com asked Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Ca.) this week if she personally supported revival of the ‘Fairness Doctrine and she said “Yes.”

The “Fairness Doctrine” ended under the Reagan Administration and Rep. Mike Pence (R.-Ind.) wants to totally outlaw it with an anti-Fairness Doctrine bill, but Pelosi won’t allow it out of committee for a vote.

Instead she is behind New York Democratic Rep. Louise Slaughter who has been active in reviving the Fairness Doctrine.

The Farness Doctrine requires radio stations to provide equal time for a response to conservative broadcaster’s views.

It is believed that owners of small radio stations therefore would not engage in the costly practice of providing time for the opposite point of view and thus would simply not carry broadcasters such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

You see the Democrats can’t play the game under the rules of “free speech” by getting liberal broadcasters on the air to compete with Limbaugh and Hannity, so they want to change the rules and silent the conservative voices.

Will the next step by the Democrats be to control “free speech” on the Internet, by asking for equal time in each and every blog?  And where does all this stop, or doesn’t it — perhaps they will want equal time in conversations in each and every home in America?  It is time for the public to speak out and let your representatives know your views on the right to free speech as the Constitution so outlines.
