When the Democrats took control of the Congress there were bold claims, among them, bringing home the troops from Iraq by the leadership, Pelosi and Reid. They haven’t achieved that objective.
None of the many promises have come true in relation to issues that face this body, including bringing home the troops, albeit it with a lot of excuses by both leaders for all of what was not achieved.
However, since they took control of Congress there has been a lot of ‘bitter’ bickering in Congress for the lack of the Dems achievements on all issues, not only Iraq.
Sound familiar?
We are now into two years of a Presidential primary and the bickering continues among the Democrats to nominate a candidate for President.
Meanwhile, the Republicans have their candidate and are now collecting critical data of debate to go into battle with the Dems in the upcoming Presidential election and there is no sign of resolution on the Democratic side.
The ‘bitter’ bickering goes on, but it is not bickering about the issues, it is bickering about the personal character and associations of both Clinton and Obama.
And now Clinton is using Harry Truman’s old line, “If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.” Implying that she has been in the kitchen of the White House.
How is all of this any different than the bickering that goes on in the Democratic controlled Congress?
It seems to me to be one in the same, a character of the Democratic Party.
The Dems seem to be giving themselves enough rope to hang themselves.
Howard Dean, the Dem Chairman has called for Superdelegates to make a decision. He sees the handwriting on the wall. As the party continues to play out this vitriolic petty debate of personal invectives with a lack of addressing the issues, the Dems seem to be tightening its own noose to possibly winning the next election.
