Barack Obama continued to defend his pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright during an interview today on The View and was again disingenuous and dishonest about the issue and his judgment to condemn but not ‘disown’ his pastor while he called for the firing of Don Imus for his inappropriate remarks about the women’s basketball team at Rutgers.

Hypocrisy?

He was called on this point by Republican-conservative co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck, while the other ‘girls’ on the view were serving up puff balls.

She asked where was your judgment?  You were a member of this church for 20 years; you didn’t know what he was saying?”

Obama said he did not do a vetting process on his pastor, then tried to say everything was taken out of context and put into sound bites.  He then took a cheap shot saying, “Imagine if someone put together five stupid things you ever said on this show?”  Caught on a camera shot smirking was Joy Behar, a declared left wing Democrat who she and Hasselbeck constantly confront over political issues.

There is a moral out rage here that has legs and Obama refuses to distant himself from a pastor that helped him to find Christ, married he and his wife and baptized his children.

Obama’s tone did not change from his previous speech on the issue, except for the fact that he said had Wright not retired he “probably” would not be a member of the Trinity Church.

And he added to this that Wright apologized for what he said, which is an outright falsehood.  Wright has not made a public appearance since this issue was disclosed.

Rev. Wright will be the nemesis of the Obama campaign.

Among Democrats, Obama is holding his own in the polls.   Among the general electorate Obama is hemorrhaging in the polls.
