There is good evidence that Hillary Clinton, down in the polls, down in the delegate votes may be raising the race card behind the scenes, couching her remarks for super delegate votes behind the statement that Barack Obama can’t beat John McCain.
Her game plan is to gain the popular vote in the upcoming primaries to support the contention that Obama is not a winnable candidate.
The arrogance of the Clinton’s strategy is to win at all cost, a familial trait — even if it means saying that a black man can’t win the White House at this point in time.
Of course one might turn the tide on this scenario to say to the delegates that a woman candidate, the likes of a Clinton, cannot win the White House and a black attractive candidate, who has been compared to John F. Kennedy, has a better chance.
Clinton comes to her candidacy with a lot of baggage, including her husband Bill, and falsehoods that seem to have legs. The latest of course was her landing in Bosnia under sniper fire, all of which was disproved with documented CBS video of the event. She simply dismissed the event by saying she “misspoke.” There seems to be a history of misspoken words, such as support for NAFTA and now a lack of support for NAFTA, she was for licenses for illegal aliens and now is against it, the entire Lewinsky scandal involving her husband, was nothing more than a ‘right wing conspiracy,’ according to her early comments. And then of course there was Whitewater, Travelgate and we are all still waiting for her to release her tax returns and White House papers.
Now it’s not that Obama doesn’t have any baggage, he has that Muslim connection that will continue to haunt him, despite being related in some distant way to Brad Pitt, he is attached at the hip to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright who has made outlandish anti-American and racists statements — which of course Obama never heard — tries to defend him by saying he suffers from a ‘time-warp’ and his statements were taken out of context – but nevertheless doesn’t ‘disown’ him, but condemns the comments.
It was a little bit mushy watching the girls of The View today gushing over him and calling him a ’sexy man’ while he said with qualification that he would not be a member of the Trinity church had Rev. Wright had not retired.
Oh, and it’s not that he doesn’t have some dirty tricks of his own, for after all the Clinton’s didn’t invent dirty tricks, It was revealed today that he had an operative — a spy – planted in the Clinton campaign which was uncovered today.
And so the Dem battle goes on while John McCain unveiled his first national ad showing him to be a stand-up guy, war hero and taking the high road to the White House.
