A New York City cabbie trying to do the right thing with a baby that no one wanted now finds himself being prosecuted for his good deed and could spend a year in jail if found guilty.

All he wanted to do was help, and is finding himself a victim of the injustice of the justice system.

Klever Sailema became involved because he was dating the 21-year-old sister of the baby’s father whose mother was only 14 year’s old.

Sailema dropped the baby off at a firehouse in Queens, making up a tale that the child who was about 6 months old had been left in his cab by a stranger.

He was initially hailed as a Good Samaritan, that is, until the story started to unravel.

The 27-year-old father is being hunted by police.

The 14-year-old mother is distraught and probably will not face charges because of her age.

Silema was charged with filing a false report, and he and his girlfriend were charged with criminal facilitation.

The good news the baby is fine because of Silema, the bad news is that he is being prosecuted and the abandoned baby is in a foster home.

Meanwhile the father is on the lamb.

Hopefully a Judge will resolve the injustice of this case in favor of the cabbie that tried to do the right thing.
