Ammo for DHS

Did President Obama form his proposed ‘civilian national security force,’ critically’ acclaimed at the time as ‘Brownshirts’ and conveniently forget to tell us this is why the Department of Homeland Security is stockpiling 2 billion rounds of ammunition?

The year was 2008 when Barack Hussein Obama said: “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set.  We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Homeland Security announced then the creation of a new FEMA corps to tap volunteers for disaster emergency responses.  The program is a partnership between FEMA and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), itself managed under the Homeland Security umbrella of Secretary Napolintano.

Several members of Congress have written in the past several weeks to Secretary Napolintano asking why she needs so much ammo.  She has acknowledge receipt of the request, but has failed to provide any information about the stock piling of 2 billion rounds of ammunition. Is  this ammo designated for use by CNCS, Border Patrol Agents, or both?

Homeland Security at the time of the announcement said they planned to start with 1,600 volunteers dispatched across the country and specially trained to provide “critical disaster services” during an emergency response.  Volunteers, they said are not FEMA employees, but will wear branded uniform clothing and will be directed by FEMA.  I wonder if the shirts are brown?

As usual the transparency in this administration is not any more forthcoming than it was in Benghazi, when 4 Americans including the Ambassador to Libya was killed by an al Qaeda attack, or when two Boarder Patrol Agents were killed in relation to a botched gun tracking case called ‘Operation Fast and Furious’ and now we fail to get any answers about 2 billion rounds of ammo ordered by DHS.

Now, perhaps it could be a devious and duplicitous tactic by Obama to create a shortage of bullets to corner the market of ammo, in order to implement gun control; or, perhaps it is Secretary Napolitano’s attempt to be frugal by making bulk purchases of ammo to save taxpayer dollars?

Although I very much doubt this, the former is more likely, but there is currently a shortage of bullets both for law enforcement and the private citizen under the 2nd amendment.

There are a series of  issues like those cited as well as a behavior of lies and duplicity coming out of the White House that lacks the transparency promised on the subject of this column as well as the economy and domestic policy that has resulted in a growing mistrust of this government.

Is this why we need all the ammo for a militia?  If not, please tell us, we’ve been waiting patiently, as usual.

During the past week President Obama’s approval and trust rating on the economy domestically dropped 10 points, and I don’t think he helped himself much on foreign policy on his recent trip to the Mideast, which was more for show than substance.  The honeymoon is over.

By the way, wonder where the mainstream media is on this story?
